So many things have changed
Phew...! Not updating my blog for quite long.. long.. time.
Many things have changed since my last post, Theodoras boat is no longer open it's service on Makassar water. Therefore, Takabakang, Takarewataya and surrounding service have been closed permanently, the fish depleted due to too many illegal fishing activities like blasting and cyanide poisonning. Too bad...!
On April 2009, we moved Theodoras boat to a new fishing ground where we are considered to be the 1st and the only fishing operator on that area, named Wakatobi National Park. This place is located South to Southeast Sulawesi (Celebes) about 100nmiles away from Kendari, the capital city of Southeast Sulawesi province. Luckily the whole area is well protected by the local government and some NGOs like WWF and TNC. It's really2 a beautiful place, specially with it's diversity of marine lives which is the number one in the world. Wakatobi is the centre of the famous World Coral Triangle consists of many Southeast Asian countries like Philippines, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Three ways knot - I don't know the exact name of it
This knot is very popular here in our country, we usually use it for light to medium saltwater bottom fishing, or use for pond carp fishing to rig 3 hooks. This knot is very simple, similar to the well-known dropper loop, but instead of using the loop we make another knot on the loop and cut one end of the loop.
To rig 3 hooks, just add another branch on this knot.
These are the pictures of how to make the knot step by step:

Takarewataya Trip October 2008
This picture was taken during Takarewataya trip, 7 Malaysian anglers and 1 Indonesian. The result was not bad though we didn't land really2 big fish, Strike rate was considered okay.
The biggest fish was 17kg of Doggie caught on trolling on our way back to Makassar from Jailamu Island, the strike was right before the ship wreck, few hundred meters from the wreck, at Takarewataya reef during a heavy rain. It was a double strike but the fish on the other gear got away, seems like it was a bad hookup.
Below is a picture of a double strike by jigging at Jailamu Island.
